Log Out Mysticism

First time in four years almost, as I am around here, when I have clicked on the Log Out link, a black box appeared, with white text;
Quote:

You've been logged in as alan_ri using your questions network account
I wanted to log out, but I've been logged in.

Are there some evil spirits cruising around LQ?

[EDIT]
I have logged out, so it seems, but I still have a link Log Out.

I will log out (hopefully with LQ being cooperative), but it would be lovely, if someone will post whether I'm logged in or logged out.

[SECOND EDIT]
Why this thread isn't listed in My Threads? Is anybody actually seeing this thread? LMAO

[THIRD EDIT]
I've managed to see a little better what's written in the black box (it disappears after a second or so), so I have updated the quote.

Your name shows as an active user viewing this thread, so you must still be logged in. Once you're in, you can never leave! :eek:

The Questions Network is a new thing, I think, because of how our logins work on Android Questions as well.

Yes, I was thinking something like that, but it looks like the network will need some tweaking.

One more thing... since you have mentioned Android Questions. Jeremy said;

Note that if you have an account here at LQ, you already have an AQ account.
Well, my gues is that my problem in this thread is related to that. It's like dependencies in the meta package.

And excuse me, but I would like to be asked if I want AQ account.

A few comments:

* I'm not able to reproduce the log out bug, but we'll look into it.
* Keep in mind that on the initial log out confirmation page, the top navbar may still show you as logged in (which includes seeing a log out button). This is due to the way we cache and render pages. You are indeed logged out and clicking on any LQ link will confirm that for you.
* Having an account at any Questions Network site means you can log into any other Questions Network site. However, an account is not created at that site until the first time you log in.

OK, that was helpful.

Well, I'll add that this was on Debian "squeeze" and browser was Google Chrome stable. With Iceweasel 5 beta, which is my primary browser, I had no such problems. The black box appeared at the top of the page.

So, I assumed it was something to do with "name reservation" (ie, I would be annoyed if someone signed up as "me" on AQ) ? Good to know it doesn't get created unless you log in there. :)
