LinuxQuestions Server Hardware

Does anyone know what brand server LinuxQuestions.org uses to host their site? Also, what distribution and version is used also?

I've asked that this thread be moved to the Website Suggestions & Feedback forum, which is intended to address questions about the site itself

It uses more than one server. But if you search the Website Suggestions and Feedback forum, this has been asked and answered many times in the past.

We use mostly Penguin Computing hardware. As Drew said, this has been covered in threads in the past.

Should we introduce you to the search function? Ah crap, what's the use.. it's Redhat based for most of the servers, which has been mentioned in those previous threads we were speaking of..

just a question for jeremy, why do you use RHEL over a Fedora Core? does RHEL really offer that much more? or is it just for the offical support offered by RHEL?

I don't use the support really, but the life cycle of Fedora should immediately preclude you from using it in any kind of server situation.

besides the fact that RHEL is designed for servers- sure you have to pay (right?) unlike fedora. But yeah, it's designed for serving, LQ is a big site that needs pretty good uptime (99.9%) so yeah.

Search- top menu bar, third from the right.
