LinuxQuestions could offer an option to permit searches using shorter keywords

Lucmove, have you gone to a 4k monitor yet? If so, what are you using?

You also bring up a limitation of the search engine at dropping terms of three characters or less. Given shortened mnemonics common with computers, it might be nice if the hosts of LinuxQuestions could offer an option to permit searches using shorter keywords.

Hi, there.

1) Sadly, I have the 4k monitor but no graphics card to match. My country's currency is in a really bad place right now and shouldn't be recovering anytime soon, so all kinds of electronics are prohibitively expensive for an indefinite time. I have been using the monitor in 1920x1080 mode. It's a little frustrating, but not that bad. The image is good.

2) The forum limitation you mentioned does exist. It's impossible to search the forum for the "4k" string. I wish there were no such limitations and we were free to fill in the text field with our own choice of noise words. Remember when most search engines supported the "-negate" operator? Such option has become increasingly rarer in this day and age.

3) Another suggestion for the forum: when a comment is moved and we click on the link in the notification mail that should lead us to the new comment, the link should be somehow updated internally so it will redirect us to the comment's new location. I clicked the link and was puzzled to find nothing. I eventually found it here because I was rather persistent.

A much improved search will be rolled out soon, but in the interim you can use "4k monitor" in this particular case. Thanks for the feedback.
