Linuxnewbies.org - uses same forum style

I was just doing a general Linux search on google and Linuxnewbie.org came up. The style of the forum is almost identical. Although, this is the BEST and most PROFESIONAL site I have found. Thanks for all the patience and help.

They are similiar in style cause both are based off vBulletin. ;) But you are right about this one being the BEST...

No, I am a regular visitor of that forum. The quality of technical help on this forum exceeds linuxnewbie.org - copy and paste questions from this forum and compare the quality of answers you get.

Cool. I was wondering what they used.

I don't post much, still feel like to much of a Newbie, but I come here everyday to read the latest posts. You learn alot from the problems of others as well as you own.

Search here first, but then don't be afraid to ask questions if you can't find answers. We need your input.

OMG! I just got an 'VBScript error... something about not being able to load something-or-other.asp' error from that site! I think I am a member of that forum, but then I'm actually a member of lots of them, but only spend time here! I can only be in so many places at once - and I like it here!

sewer_monkey 10-27-2002 11:47 PM

Thymox, same here. I don't know what the heck happened to that server. It's some retarded portal now... Totally useless... :(

I believe the site everyone is talking about is "Linuxnewbie.org" and not "linuxnewbies.org". ;)

Hmmmm i know this is kinda off teh subject.....but isn't www.linuxnewbie.org the site with those tutorial things? Why doesn't LQ start something like that? Not copying them or anything, but it's a nice idea...you know people can participate to write them, and they could be verified by lets say Jeremy, then put onto the site??

Just a suggestions...

Actually tutorials is something that has been mentioned at this time, we just have other priorities above it though for the time being, like the new machine and such.

Oh ok well that's cool, but i would like to see it implemented into the site towards the near future, i feel it's a great idea, cause users can search the tutorials before they post up, etc, etc.

Hope Jeremy reads this :p

Thanks for the reply trickykid!
