LinuxAnswer submit is stripping my formatting

trying to submit a howto and have read the howto to submit which includes mention of vb code but that post appears old.

I have gone into one of my posts which has formatting

like [/color etc] with lots of text
then I copy and paste it into my submit page and it is being stripped on paste.

yes I am using a mdk 10.1 with Mozilla Firefox 1.0 rv 1.7.5

a normal edit of a normal post does not strip my vb code.

any clues what changes have occurred........submitting a plain black text probably appeals to those who prefer terminals but it looks too bland for my simple mind

any suggestions?

Anyone feel like trying to PREVIEW a submit any post that the poster has edit powers......and seeing if they can get my same bland preview? And of course do not submit it just preview it.

Just to be clear, where are you trying to copy the text from? Are you selecting it in an edit window (complete with formatting), or are you selecting text in an already-formatted webpage?

Copying and pasting works just fine for me (preserving all formatting) if I copy from the LinuxQuestions edit window.

well I tried both first attempt was from a normal web page with the colours displayed
when that failed I went into edit mode to one of my posts then copied and paste all of that stuff into the submit page

I am referring to the last way as its not obvious to me why the copy and paste is failing so I wanted to see if others could reproduce my which case its more likely to be a program change at LQ rather than my mistakes

btw I don't make mistakes, heh heh

Bumped to avoid getting drowned out by the surge of 4-year-old post revivals.
