Linux user Manual and Flag or star in thread of this forum

Even though I am new, I would like to have a suggestion here:
1. Linux user manual: I am surprised why many distributions don't come with manual? If you talk of this forum, this may be an ocean of knowledge but at the same time it is equally tough to get the required point. The works here are mostly repeated as they are one or other way interrelated. Also, one has to accumulate bit by bit knowledge from thread by thread basis, that is unquestionably frustrating. I believe, if we develop (i mean distributors)at least short user manual or instruction, it will be extremely efficent. One can print the manual and follows while installing. When you have the problem to install network driver, how can you expect serfing internet for this or that problem? I strongly recommend for manuals or at least want to know what is baffeling to produce manual?

Slackware Linux Essentials

Slackware Linux CD-ROM Installation HOWTO
(that's also on CD1 of every Slackware version)

Slackware Linux Basics
(that one is unofficial but very helpful)

Maybe you just have the wrong Linux distribution ...

The Linux Documentation Project? That's included on quite a few install CDs.

Rather than help for this and that distro, what I was trying to say is we should always think "how can linux be more attractive, more user friendly and more user centered".
Being numueous experts in this area, we have potential to attract more and more new users toward linux in a geometric rate. Is it not the proper time to think somehow strategically? The world is expecting a solid and unified invitation of "Linux" for in the days to come the world will see and feel itself as a "Linux world".
Let's be wider than never in the past!

I hope the world isn't holding it's breath while it waits.

They may get a solid and unified "RedHat" or "Debian" or "Slackware" or "$DISTRO", because "$DISTRO" is the Operating System, Not "Linux"

Pretty funny when you think about it. There's no missionary zeal like a person newly enlightened.

Linux will continue to attract new users, but not because there is a global manual. The way to attract them is to make them realize the importance of Open Source Software.

Also... by the looks of your title, it appears you meant to ask about "marking" a thread, but forgot in your enthusiasm to convert the world to Linux. This might interest you. Tips on Using LQ's Tag Function.

i see distro as a kind of "franchises" ...

like hawkering curry food but my ready-cooked curry ordered from a reputed master of curry and he counts the quantity as "how many bowls of curry in a deep pot do you want ??" ...

From my (limited) experience the distros usually do have manuals. Just search on your installation CDs, it's usually there as .pdf or .html or .whatever files, else manuals can be found on the sites of the distros, there is no dearth here...

Else there are numerous non-distro-specific books on the market.
