How to convey my thanks to a LQ member?

If it is not the right forum for the following question then I apologize.

How can I send my thanks to a member(s) specially when I have already
clicked the option "is this post helpful to you". Is there any other
option by which I can say thanks again?

Thank you. :)

Looks like you already found a way, and in my opinion slightly over the top

But in general, a follow up post is appropriate for a thankyou, even if you also clicked the "Did you find this post helpful"

A follow up post is especially appropriate as a thankyou if there is any ambiguity about what correction the helpful post inspired you to make. In that case, the follow up post should indicate exactly what the helpful post inspired you to try.

I don't understand the technical topic of your other thread well enough myself to be sure, but you seem to already have a handle on this behavior as well (clarify what you did as a result of the help while saying thankyou):

Thank you.
I asked to make sure that the member has got my thank-you note. I know I can append but what if he doesn't come back to that thread? In that case he/she is going to miss it.
:)

When I help in a thread, I'm always curious whether the OP understood the help and was able to use it. So I always check for follow up posts. It is hard to imagine others providing help here that don't do the same.

Usually you get no indication of whether the OP really understood the help. Even in a thread marked solved, there is usually no hint of what solution the OP found and whether that was found by following one of the suggestions in the thread or by some other means and the thread didn't matter.

If you click on the "Helpful" link this will not only mark that post as helpful but also add to the members reputation. The member can see this in his User Control Panel and on the "Reputation" tab on his profile.
If you add a follow up with a "Thank you" note to a thread the members that have responded in that thread will see that there is a follow up post in their User Control Panel and in their "Subscribed Threads" page, as long as they don't have intentionally unsubscribed that particular thread. I would think that the regular users here do that rather seldom (I just made a quick check and I am currently subscribed to 5667 threads, with this one 5668).

So the chances that a member misses a "Thank you" are rather small.
