Eric,

So many times a day I visit that page, but some how I never noticed that option

Quote:
In the options section it only lists a maximum of 50 that can be shown. Haven't found another option to change that yet.
Yes, now I have to click on only 15 pages (50 threads per page)
and think about the the members who have been here for near about 10 years, it will take them nearly a week to unsubscribe from all threads

Hello Anisha,

I'm glad I could help out to lighten your workload a bit
I always clean up my subscribed threads as soon as they have a solution. When I need to look up something I just do an advanced search in my posts. I only have about 14 subscribed threads

Kind regards,

Eric

OMG only 14 subscribed threads ???

In my case newbie/new members don't respond, despite several warnings !! so I can't unsubscribe thinking some day the person will respond

Somehow I find you to be extra polite in your posts

Every day at the same time (24 hour rotation), which was early morning for me. It is not based on individual threads, just a container that collects all messages from the last 24 hour period, which are send in one go.

I'm not sure (see post #14) if this is at the same time for everyone. I doubt it, that would put a peak in the performance, it is probably spread over the day.

Hi Anisha,

Thank you for the compliment

I too try to follow the threads I posted in but when an original poster doesn't take the time or is that rude that he/she doesn't reply, then why should I keep waiting for him/her? Most of the time I leave them open one week and then delete them from my subscriptions.

Kind regards,

Eric

Hi,

2605 threads spread over 51 pages.....

I came to accept that certain people do not answer/reply to posts I make and, except for a handful of exceptions, I never un-subscribe from threads.

It occasionally happens that someone finds one of those older threads, finds it helpful and does reply to express their gratitude. I like to be able to acknowledge those people with a friendly reply from my side (I almost always reply on a thank you post).

Guess that everybody has his/her own way of using LQ

So much diversity here on LQ. There are some Gurus who just post to shout at the newbies. (I don't want to take names here). This kind of behavior just scares away the newbies and prevent them from posting further !!
and then there are people like you who have got tons of patience

Sometimes I re-read my SOLVED threads after 3 months or even 6 months, and then again post some question/comment there !! According to your quote now I know that you'll never respond to my threads (if somehow you do not notice the thread getting bumped) even if you posted there before

Hi druuna,

Haven't thought of it that way. I also always reply to a thank you post, just being polite , but you're right, when I unsubscribe I'll never know if someone posts after I unsubscribe. Will have to re-think my policy. Thanks for pointing that out.

Kind regards,

Eric

I too do the same if the person explicitly thanks me. In a way by saying "You're most welcome" I just hint them that I was expecting a written response

Hello Anisha,

You're right about both things. Some users are just plain rude, but then again, there are some newbies that could use some education too. I guess that everyone looks at it in a different way but I for one will never treat someone in a way that I wouldn't want to be treated.

As per my previous post answering to druuna, I'll have to re-think my 'unsubscribe policy', so most likely if you post in this thread in a couple of months, I just might be 'notified' and reply.

Kind regards,

Eric

We can add a true "unsubscribe all" option in a future release. In the meantime, if you'd like to be unsubscribed from ALL threads, send me a notice offline and I'll take care of it.

Thanks and I think it will be better if you would add the following too in future releases:

"Daily notify all"
"Instant notify all"
"Weekly notify all"

And right now I would like to have a "Daily notification" of all my subscribed threads instead of the current method i.e. "Instant notification"!
