How old are the forums?

Just how old are our beloved forums? Please note I only want to know when the original forums were created, not new ones that were created over time such as the Debian forum.

Seems Jeremy made his first post June 25th 2000. So that should be how old the forums are.

LinuxQuestions.org has a birthday coming up!!!

Do you all realize what this means? We have the site's fourth birthday coming up this month! This calls for some celebration! This is how we should do it: Jeremy tells us just how long this place took to create so we can all marvel at the enourmous amount of effort it took to create this place to begin with.

w00t! sounds like a good celebration to me! Virtual beer for all Jeremy has put in a lot of work. Over 4 years is a long time. LQ has grown a lot. I think it was just last summer that the 500,000 post was reached. Now in less than a year it's nearing 1million. Someday I hope to buy Jeremy a real beer in person.
