Golden section as in: The balance between the happiness of the user (the one that wants to be deleted) and the amount of work for Jeremy.

Do you want me to go away ;)

FWIW, the "amount of work" involved has absolutely no impact on this.

No work for Jeremy and the user can go. That sounds golden to me :)

If that's your biggest issue, change your e-mail address here to something fictitious, such as biteme@usuck.com. Fictitious addresses are the only thing I put into the 'to' field for e-mails. My friends go into 'bcc' to protect the innocent. (different use, but you get the point- it will work. ;))

From Xavier's post there seems to be shame involved in not posting for 3 years and then trying to delete the account. I would call it common sense and courtesy to clear out something I haven't used in 3 years. Message boards sometimes get bought by corporations or have their mailing lists stolen, hacked, etc.

Xavier's latest post implies that either Linux or the people who run this board and their precious database either don't have the skill or the technology to delete an account with out "messing up the database". That doesn't seem like a great advert for Opensource.

Also, now that I've posted I'm locked in forever. I don't remember seeing that when I signed up or I never would have signed up or posted. I realize now I should have emailed someone directly and I certainly would have if I had known I would get dragged into something as lame as this.

Here is my solution that is a win-win situation. Please delete this thread then delete my account.

I was searching on the paige if someone was wanted to delete his account. Usualy I find nothing. :)

I would like too to delete my account. And stop with FAQ, because the deleteing account thing was written after I signed up.

I just want to say this, I like I see on this board I wont recive any help.

You received help, you responded once and then you failed to post back. So really you are wrong on all counts.
