How can I delete one of my Blog entries?
Hello :)
How can I delete one of my Blog entries? I accidentally created a duplicate (while trying to figure out how to add tags -- got there now). I clicked on the Edit icon, clicked on the Delete button, selected the "Delete Message" radio button, entered a reason for deleting and clicked on the "Delete this Message" button but got "catkin, you do not have permission to access this page". You could try hitting the report button to ask Jeremy to delete the entry - but this thread also will do the trick.
For info, the entry to be deleted is http://www.linuxquestions.org/blog/c...llpapers-2221/ (this is the one with no tags). |
Thannks Xavier -- I was seeing it more as a bug than a need to delete! And sorry for not posting the link.

catkin, you should be able to "soft delete" any of your own blog entries. If you're still having an issue with this, let me know.

Thanks Jeremy :)
I don't know what "soft delete" is but repeated the procedure in my first post and got the same error message. Firefox 3.5.2 on ubuntu 8.04.3. Same IE 7.0 on WXP. Best Charles |

Even though it kicks out an error, the report does go through (you have 3 reports live at the moment :))

Thanks for the bug report. We'll look into the database error.

I just tried to report one of my blog entries to request deletion and got:
Database Error Database error The LinuxQuestions.org database has encountered a problem. Please try the following: * Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser. * Open the www.linuxquestions.org home page, then try to open another page. * Click the Back button to try another link. The www.linuxquestions.org forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists. We apologise for any inconvenience. |
Hi,
Over the last weeks I had the same error when looking at the LQ Stats pages. Don't know if it has anything to do with the database or with some timeout that occurred while browsing. Kind regards, Eric |
Should be fixed now. Any error you saw on the LQ stats page is unrelated and if it happens again should be reported separately. Thanks.

OK now thanks Jeremy :)

It was OK -- there was no error message -- but it was not OK -- it did not delete the blog entry.
