Hi Mods...Just curious

Like I said I'm just curious about this thing. Please answer me this, why does its so happen like when a thread is being closed, one mod says it will be closed and it takes another mod to come and close the thread. For example here, http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=542146

I have seen this many times, always wanted to ask about this. Why can't the aforementioned mod not close the thread himself/herself?

Just curious guys :)

PS : Sorry for the title if it is senseless.

The "Please post..." blurb is one of a number of prewritten replies the site can provide for us. this is done to ensure a consist reply that's formally agreed on, and also very fast at the same time. but a moderator can only close threads for forums they are moderators of. Outside of my own forums (networking / programming / general) i have no special powers at all,[bugs aside ;)] and can only report threads like you can.

Thanks Chris, I see now that even mods are restricted to certain aspects of LQ like particular forums. I never knew that, thought mods control all.

it used to be a lot more prominent actually, not as clear now, but check the bottom corner of the main forum view pages: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...isplay.php?f=7
