What about putting a Gentoo sub-forum in the Distributions forum, its a very popular distro now.

Ah,one of these We do have a long standing policy on when a distro forum is created. This thread explains it all.

A Gentoo leader would have to request a forum. That is the only way it would happen.

Not quite true, but close. Assuming we didn't get a proactive request from, in this case, a Gentoo leader to create a forum, Jeremy may contact them and ask if they would be willing to have a forum here and they (or their representative) participate in it. If the answers are all no, the forum doesn't happen. We like to have "official" forums at LQ.

Jeremy approached Gentoo a long long time ago.. its when they literally didn't have their own forums. A week after Jeremy sent off a note to ask, they had their very own forums up. Guess that was their own way of saying no.
