Editing Social Network Discussions

Hello!

I am wondering how to edit a message that was posted in a Social Network board.

Thanks!

Should be an edit button bottom right of the post?

Hello,

Thanks...but oddly enough, there isn't.

They aren't actually buttons, do you see the 2 links in the bottom right hand corner of the post? One says "edit" and one says "report"?

Odd, if you wrote it, you should be able to edit it. Alternatively, post up the text you would like to see there and I'll do it for you.

Hello,

Thanks...I just wanted to replace the line "We will do some basic background check and determine how you can help!" and put "We will determine how you can help!".

I think that background check was just not very appropriate.

It can be found here: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...iscussionid=57

Thanks!

Hello XavierP,

Fantastic!

However, the edit link is still not there.

Btw, which direction do you think this Help Desk project is going to go?

Thanks,
Murdock

Maybe you need ModSuperPowers to use the edit button...? And I don't know which direction it will go in - how do you vet the volunteers?

Hello XavierP,

I guess only superusers, like yourself, have the ModSuperPowers.

There are various methods for vetting, but I think discussing the Live Help Desk project is beyond the scope of this thread, so I'll contact you privately.

Thanks!

You should now be able to edit your own messages.

Hello Jeremy,

Thank you for the update, but there is still no "edit" link next to the report link. Is you update only for newly posted messages?

Regards,
Murdock

It should be for all messages, not just new ones. You may want to try a shift-refresh, to ensure you're not getting a cached page.
