Do you miss the spellchecker?

As you may have noticed spellchecker.net has discontinued it's free service. This leaves the site with 3 options. What do you think?

I don't think anyone used the spell checker anyways. I would personally use the donation money for other things for the site cause that is alot of money for just one year.

news to me. i usually just rely on my own gud spelling.

I can't see the point to spellchecking posts. Tytpos are inevitable, and there are lots of non English speakers, so spellings are bound to go wrong. Most importantly those of us who speak the Queens English would be horrified to be corrected to "US english" anyway.

wouldn't it be the other way around? this is jeremy's site after all.

Those of us who speak the Queens English would not care whose site it was!

(tongue firmly in cheek)

you could try integating ispell or aspell?

jeremy 01-24-2002 08:20 PM

That is what I was considering doing, but it doesn't seem like many people even used it.
