Devuan

Excuse-me. I would like to suggest to administrators to create a sub-forum to Devuan distribution. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback. The process for this is covered in depth elsewhere, but if you know someone that is officially associated with the distro that is interested in participating here at LQ, do feel free to put them in touch.

As far as I know they usually hang out in their own forum and Debian's forum.
https://dev1galaxy.org/
http://forums.debian.net/

PS: I sent a PM to one of the Devuan dev.'s.

I'm a Devuan developer officially associated with the distro. I'm happy my account here still works, was hanging out at the time dyne:bolic was debated also on these shores. I'm interested in participating here at LQ and just like me other developers of Devuan may be (we are discussing it tonight in our weekly meeting). Can you point me out the process documentation? thanks!

I started a few threads about Devuan a while back, although I'm not actually using it just now, but I'm happy if you want to include them in a new Devuan forum - all the best.

Given post #4, I'd think there's a strong possibility that's going to happen. Would you not think so?

Hi jaromil,

I'm quite sure Jeremy will contact you to cover more details and see if the two of you can get a new forum started.

In the meantime, please review this sticky thread, Why Is There No Forum For My Distro? from the Linux Distributions forum.

This will explain the overall thinking of LQ regarding specific distribution forums, and give you and idea what LQ is looking for in order to have a forum for Devuan.

Best Regards

There really isn't an official process doc for this. Our requirements are simply that at least one person officially associated with the distro agree to participate for the foreseeable future and that there is a link from the official site to the forum.

I am also on the Devuan dev team (as golinux) and support the addition of Devuan to the list of Linux distributions.

Since I have decided to use Devuan as a secondary to Slackware, I think it would be great to have a subforum for it. It does feel kinda weird posting in the Debian forum here.

What does that have to do with a request for a subthread?

All conditioned things eventually come to an end so that argument is meaningless.
