Constantly being logged out

This is getting really annoying. Half the time when I try to post, I find I have been logged out. It says I don't have permissions to post even though it shows me being logged in. It says to reload the page, and tada! I'm not logged in.

This site is unusable.

I suspect this is an issue with your browser - it certainly isn't the site.

What browser and version do you use?

It might be a missing cookie. LinuxQuestions keeps track of your login status with a cookie. Does your browser delete cookies or not allow them to be placed?

Are you checking the "Remember Me" box?

Is that for during sessions or only when a browser is relaunched?

Probably. That was the mistake I made when I first joined- I had my browser cookie handling set a little too strictly and didn't add LQ to my 'allow' list. (And yes, Jeremy had to explain that to me).

Cheers

I'm not sure what you mean. If you check the box, you'll only be logged out if you 1) click the log out link or 2) manually delete the cookies associated with LQ.
