Closed thread.

I tried to post a reply to a question I opened and which is active with people trying to help resolve the issue in question and when I tried to reply it said the thread is closed.

Why?

It would help if you gave a link to the thread or the reason for closure given by the moderator in question. Typically threads are closed because they are duplicates, but sometimes because they are old and reopened or offensive.

Edit - doing a search on your posts, the explanation seems pretty clear to me - duplicating a previous post.

The moderator who closed the thread told you exactly why........

Lacking a link to the subject matter, I have to wonder if a link to the active clone of the closed thread was available.

There was, yes.

& were you the thoughtful mod who provided it? -- I always appreciate it when you guys can take the extra time to do that.

Edit: add omitted you

Can't remember. Maybe perusing the culprits posting history might help.

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...52#post3511552 - this fella closed it. Pitchforks and torches anyone?

Oh yes please.

Or maybe a public flogging. Nothing like a good public flogging - and a live web stream of the event!
