Change subscription folder from thread tools.
 

Is it bad for any reason to add to the Thread Tools for subscribed threads "Edit subscription" line - to quickly move threads between folders, for example. To decide where thread goes I sometimes want to read it. Then I am supposed to go to Subscribed Threads, select the thread, scroll all the way down and click "Go" to move thread. Not as bad as changing IP and MAC simultaneously in Windows, of course, but it can be easier. Or am I the only one with such desire? In that case I'll try to write GreaseMonkey userscript.

At this time I don't think there's enough demand to warrant this feature. Thanks for the feedback.

Tried to write GreaseMonkey script for doing that. Now I have a question: why when you view the thread, you see thread id, when you mark thread for moving you need subscription id, and finally to move thread you use again thread id? Is there an easy way to convert thread id to subscription id? Or is there an easy way to get list of all subscription folders?

No public API exists for either of those two functions.

I remember seeing the option (to create folders) when I first joined LQ and simply assumed there would be an easy way to do things like this. However it wasn't until upgrading my OS this week that I recently had an interest in moving my threads to different categories.

So, although I only represent just one more guy (after five years) I'll cast my vote for a simpler way to do this. It seems like such an obvious feature though (kinda like the desire to have bookmarks in a browser).

I won't press too hard for this, just casting a vote for it to see if there is any new interest. If only me and one other guy are interested in this (after five years) then I wouldn't want LQ to go through the trouble of catering to such a small group of guys even if we represent a few dozen silent "type A"s :-)
