can i repost an old thread or mark it as new so it an be seen again?
I've had a thread for well over a month now and I still have not been able to make any progress as to do what I wanted to do in the first place. I've tried posting the problem as a different thread under different names and they were taken down due to the fact they were duplicates. They were I know, not gonna get mad about it. But I do still have this preference that hasn't been taken care of. It would be fantastic if I could maybe mark my old post as new so it's back up at the top of the list or something. Or maybe get pardon of some sort to post a duplicate?

At this point, I'd be wondering whether anyone here could help me with my question.
Sometimes, I've wanted to do things (both on computers and in real life) and found no one I asked for help could help me, either because no one else had any experience in that area or because what I wanted to do was just not doable. |
I guess you are referring to this thread? It looks like corp769 was trying to help you, but then you neglected to follow up on your progress
According to LQ Rules: Quote:
Or are you referring to something else? HTH |
Posting a follow up with more details relevant to the problem (including any additional troubleshooting you've done since the original post) is the correct way to bump an older thread.

now when you say follow up....do you mean like comment like im doing now or hit the edit button and edit the original thread?
|
You are welcome to do either, depending on what you're trying to accomplish.

I would guess that if other people have responded to your thread, it would be best to post a new comment, because notifications are sent out for new comments, but not for edits.
