Automatically parse URLs

Is there any way to change the default behavior of the "Automatically parse URLs" feature to be disabled (unchecked)?

I normally enter URLs as links, but occassionally I include configuration files containing URLs (for example, a yum.conf or repository.repo). If I forget to uncheck this feature, the post is a mess and it takes longer to correct than it originally took to create. Other forums I've used haven't had this feature, or their implementation didn't alter the displayed content of the URL, so it wasn't a problem.

I looked through the UserCP preferences, but couldn't find anything. I emailed J.W., but he thought it was a global site setting.

If that's the case, can I suggest a per-user setting in the UserCP? Alternatively, can the feature be changed so the displayed URL isn't shortened with an ellipsis ("...") inserted somewhere in the middle? Thanks much for your consideration.

Anything in [ code ] blocks will not be interepreted as a URL, and you should ideally be pasting config files as code samples anyway imho.

Code:
10 print "http://linuxquestions.org"
20 goto 10

Ah, thanks! I hadn't used a code block, because yum config files aren't aligned (no need for a monospaced font). I'll try to remember to use them more frequently.
