So warning everyone else and leaving f_c alone was the best way to deal with it? OK. I see no reason to keep going unless someone starts it all up again.
To me he simply wants to engage people in any topic he thinks is "fun" or will get people posting.
Looking at this thread, he was certainly succesful.
Trolls are like children, seeking attention. I don't understand the need to be protected from them by moderators. It's easy to ignore them, and it doesn't matter how many accounts they have, it's the very post they wrote that's relevant.

Neither do I nor do I see a need to be told not to reply to them when no rules were broken. We should all be treated equally and telling people who have done nothing wrong not to post seems a bit of an odd way to deal with things. Furthermore telling someone to ask a question, when they never asked one to start with, also seems to be an odd way to deal with things.

The people who kept replying may disagree with you.
I believe that, before expunging anyone of their freedoms, they should be publicly tried by a jury(in a forum-thread) of their peers. If found guilty we could dispatch a drone to launch a pre-emptory process which would send a 'kill -TERM $(pidof troll)' command.
