Any way to report users before they post ?
Check out this user:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...outlet-746296/ I'm thinking spam bot, but no way to report until the spam starts. |
I don't know. Having that username doesn't make them guilty.
I, for one, expect Herpes Handjobs to be a great contributor to the community. |
At this time there is no way of reporting a user profile.

My impression is that the really obvious new spambot accounts (like that one) typically get moderated out before they get a chance to post?

For the vast majority of cases, that is correct.

I only recently began watching LQ Spy through the day and have had my first real exposure to spam on LQ as a result. Whatever the mechanisms for catching it they must be pretty effective overall as I rarely see spam posts in search results or my selected distro forums.
I now try to flag and report obvious spam posts as quickly as I see them in LQ Spy, but curious - is user reporting the first line defense for catching them? And thanks Jeremy for the best GNU/Linux tech resource and social circle on the net! |
