Annoying (apparent) Hijack of www.linuxquestions.org

Gidday Boardsters

I'm getting really pissed off with this situation. I've got a local fix which I;ll explain however...

If I type "www.linuxquestions.org" into my Firefox browser after a few seconds I get shunted to
Code:
http://sendfwd.com/?dn=netline.com&fp=%2FAYGplGLFekxtzpWw%2FI8z%2F1bTkVZ9%2B9Bra9VRns7N08wuSCCzZwId0eNVNEdVIjAQwNbmT%2Be31f7lmIFO0%2BG9g%3D%3D&prvtof=QVQN%2BnfX8GroD8w8XoKzCOCsVpCdGI%2FO3ywleCYafjmcda1iwQKDVlg9KmUYHf1f&poru=LhSlYRefW29OzlljnKEpRkY7UR3TS8kFZ92BuBZ6u4TusWlvr0wKRK0vWMEx0hXxpsapRECsXfZ0SKrVMWDKCA%3D%3D&cifr=1&
However, if I stick /questions at the back of it like "www.linuxquestions.org/questions" then I can do my forum stuff as expected.

I wonder what the hell is going on. Can anyone wize me up on this?

Bless you
Peter

You must have some malicious browser plugin - aka toolbar - aka feature - that is doing that.

Hey, peterlowrie

I've got to agree with astrogeek. I check in here numerous times each day and have never experienced what you described above.

I'm also not able to reproduce this. Is it happening to any other members? What version of Firefox are you using?

are you by chance using YOUR ISP's DNS ????

they will !!!
redirect you to their own advertising page that "looks" like a "search" but only has links to your isp's paid for "partners"

there are also some very NASTY Malware disguised AS "firfox plugins "

Here's an even easier fix, once you are in LQ bookmark it and you never need to type the address in again.

which brought me right back here (with a few clicks) so it must be a local issue.

I have never encountered this on any system I use.

Netline.com is an internet "advertising" outfit. Try visiting them directly--not nice people.
