Add a way to search for Threads (esp ZRT) where member has made only ONE post ever
 

I couldn't find a way to Search for Threads where the member has made only one post. More specifically, where that Thread has only one post, meaning it's the member's first question. There's Search choices for max/min 0/1/n reply. I wouldn't want 'max 1 post' because that would include the many members who never made a post.

What I'm trying to do (in case one wonders wth I'm snooping:eek:) is find ZRT where it's someone's first post. Yes, I could click on each zrt, to see if 'posts:1' but I was looking for an automated way. This also might have other uses that Idk atm. I don't think I'm violating any 'privacy' with this. Thanks.

Alternatively, ZRT could have an icon indicating this 1st post status.

You've already partially answered your technical question by citing that when you do an advanced search you can only locate those who have "at most a single post" and therefore you find members who have no posts.

However, as you say, there is the zero reply search. And you know that when you view the thread, you'll then see the count of posts by the OP.

Don't you feel it is applicable to review any zero reply thread and if you have something to contribute towards the question, to then offer your comments, regardless of how many questions someone has already asked? As opposed to putting forth highly specific effort to answer questions where the OP has but a single post? To whit, your question here is or was a ZRT when I started my reply to it, however you have more than a single post. This does not mean to me that your question is a poor one or one which does not merit an answer offering, or discussion.

Another thing I feel you are overlooking is that people do get a first post if they put an introduction one to the New Member Introductions forum. And further, a lot of them upon having received not more than a few welcome posts sometimes reply, "Thanks! :)", those minor actions alone will give those users a small handful of posts.

Note also that there other options under Quick Links "View New Posts" and "View Latest Threads". Both of these are good options too where you can see threads and posts where there is new activity.

imho it's up to the poster what to do, like this:

i haven't received a reply after X days.

they now can either provide additional information in a second, or if they really supplied all they can in post #1, just state that they'd still like to solve this

or

decide that it wasn't so important after all (or maybe already got help elsewhere and just doesn't care)

either way, it's up to the op.

and in any case, zero reply posts tend to float back up to the top for a while.

Thanks for the suggestion. We don't currently have any plans to implement this functionality.
