About a "dotfiles" section

I would like to hear from you guys about that...
I mean, there is a a good part of the questions that are made here that could be answered just watching "dotfiles" from more experienced people...
i think about mplayer config file, .emacs file, .vi file, etc...
I don't know about space at LQ but I think could help a lot...

Just a thought...

Regards

You already brought this up in this thread Jeremy started: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=171301

Please do not double post or start the conversation more than one place.

And something like this, I'd say could easily fit in with the Wiki.. http://wiki.linuxquestions.org

thanks for your reply trickykid,

just to clarify...
the thread that you mentioned was a general thread about sugestions....
as you can see also, nobody said absolutely nothing about "dotfiles" there...
considering that, i decided that a thread only about this subject could be created...
i think it was a bit to fast from you consider that double post...
as far as I can read there was no answer to my question in the other thread, so can not be considered a "conversation"...

Best Regards

Bring it up again, in the same thread that is. Sometimes things get overlooked, or nobody that has replied liked the idea. Most are just giving suggestions, Jeremy taking them and most likely considering them. Give him time, he's busy, but don't break our rules and start it in another thread as our rules indicate not to do this. Simple enough. That is why Jeremy started that thread, to keep the suggestions all in one place.

And I've already pretty much given the best answer yet, this suggestion can be easily implemented using our Wiki.. ????

Regards.

Having a separate thread for this suggestion is fine with me. That being said I do think the best place for that type of content is the wiki.
