Obviously Jeremy will decide where this suggestion goes.
However it travels a similar road as a concern I have.
With so much traffic, posts are pretty "hit and miss" as to whether the people with the answer even see them. Being from all over the world, we hit the fora at different times, and tend to only see what is recent. Like *very* recent - I page up and down a couple of screens, but that's all.

There is currently no way to keep active issues in front of people without the OP bumping them - and that just pisses off the mods, and suffers the same "hit and miss" problem anyway.

Regarding keeping a thread active, note that Zero Reply threads are now "auto-bumped" twice in order to maximize the chances that the global audience will see the thread, and simultaneously to minimize the significance of whatever timezone the OP is in. -- J.W.
