A new machine has been donated to
I am happy to announce that ASL has donated a new machine to The machine donated was a Lancelot 1300S. This could not have come at a better time as the current machine is really starting to give. As soon as I have the server I will post pics and more specs here. I would really like to thank Jeff Nguyen, the CEO of ASL Inc., who contacted me personally about the donation. He asked for nothing in return. ASL has been around for over 7 years and really look like a great company.

Wow, this is awesome! Even though it really doesn't directly affect (well other than the great amt of time I spend here ;) ) me that gives me a tingly warm fuzzy feeling. Yet another reason to prove that the linux/open source community is the best people to hang out with. They do things just to do them, just to be nice. I really like that idea. I live by it, and hope other's will too.

Thanks ASL, if I ever hear of anyone lookin for a server, I will happily point them to you.

That's great news!

Like MasterC, I enjoy being a part of the Linux community for it's generosity and willingness to help, just for the sake of being generous and helpful.

Those guys got nice machines too.
I buy one if I can get it tax-free.

Just wanted to let everyone know the new machine has arrived. I have not had a chance to turn it on yet, but it is as sturdy and well built as any 1U I have used. The machine is a dual PIII 866MHz, 1GB RAM, Serverworks LE chipset and has 3 36GB IBM hot swap SCSI drives. I will post a more indepth review later along with some pics. For the impatient (it is a large image - the others will be smaller).
