'View Latest Threads' misunderstanding
I thought 'View Latest Threads' in the 'Quick Links' menu was supposed to display the latest threads created. However, it gives, among other, sticky threads or multiple pages threads. So can somebody explain me please?

Because I just checked at least twice on my machine, and I'm seeing exactly what it says, the "latest threads". I did not see any sticky threads among the threads/posts in the same list. It seems to me that it also includes the latest posts as well, as some of the threads listed I know are not new. Am I understanding your question correctly? |
View latest threads is a shortcut for a search which gives you the latest threads which have activity, in time descending order.

All I have for you is to pull down the Quick Links and hover over the selections.
You'll see some details about the search specifications in the hyperlink which is pending if you were to choose to click. I suppose you can copy that link also an examine it in more detail, and then go to the Search -> Advanced Search and see what options you would use to duplicate those searches. Once again, they are just the equivalent of Canned Saved Searches. In fact, you can use the Advanced Search option and save your own searches. I don't typically use the View New Posts one, I use the View Latest Threads one all the time. |

Also, one says "posts" and the other says "threads", there is a difference between a "post" and a "thread" - not the same thing. Does that make sense? |
How about checking out the LQ Spy?
I honestly hadn't tried it until about 2 minutes ago, it seems to show a combination, plus summary, of new thread/post activities. |
The referenced Stickies did have recent posts, which is why they were included. Not all stickies are closed.
View New Posts is user-specific. It is a search for threads containing posts the logged in user hasn't read. View Latest Threads is simply a time-based list of threads containing recent posts, whether or not the user has read them. I'm partial to the New Posts search... |
Ok, thank you for your answers.
My misunderstanding was due to the fact that 'Quick Links' > 'View Latest Threads' doesn't display the very latests threads actually, but the latests threads having activities. It's different then. |
