$ sign auto-replacement - euch!

Microsoft. I didn't touch my dollar-sign key, honest. So who's genius idea was it to auto-replace ss with $s? Irritates me greatly - I was tearing my hair out at people using m$ all the time until I realised that the forum wasn't giving them any choice!

At least make it an option, please? This is almost as bad as that yahoo-mail thing a while back (if a little less subversive).

Hmm, well, that was weird, it didn't do it that time. let me try again - micro$oft ms

after posting - ha! there you have it. I guess the replacement is case-sensitive. Weird.

The replacement has been removed.

Nice one! Was it even ever meant to be there?

It was intentional. When I started the forum I didn't think it would ever even have 100 members, so it wouldn't have been a big deal. It has come up before though and I think it was time to remove it.
