Network Engineer-Los Angeles

Clearspring runs a sophisticated large-scale infrastructure that is touched by billions of end users. We are looking for a Systems Administrator to help us provide support to a 24x365 service-oriented computing environment. This role includes participation in software releases, on-call rotation, and support, as well as distributed computing infrastructure design and configuration. This is a chance to play in a large operational sandbox, and work in a highly effective technical team.

Primary Responsibilities:
•Identify and resolve service and performance issues
•Create or update documentation including network diagrams, procedures, and policies
•On call duties
•Routine End User Support
•Other duties as assigned
Required Skills/Experience:
•At least three years of proven experience in a service oriented, computing environment, Linux Server support and end user support
•Proven experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting the following systems - Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5, DNS, SMTP Systems, Apache web servers, MySQL Data servers
•Bachelor's degree or related experience required
•Proven experience scripting to automate tasks using one or more of the following: Bash, SH, Perl, Python, PHP
•Proven ability to work well in team environment
•Proven ability to multitask and juggle multiple critical issues
•Proven ability to quickly adapt to change
•Proven experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting the following systems is preferred - Loadbalancer Configuration, tuning Network routing and firewall configuration/maintenance SAN File Systems, Tomcat application servers, Monitoring/Alerting Systems, LDAP, Configuration Management, CDN Management and Configuration
•Proven experience diagnosing complex issues is preferred
•Proven experience troubleshooting network, server, application issues is preferred

I assume that "Network Engineer-Los Angeles" means that the job is in LA & telecommuting is not possible. Even if you make a 2nd to confirm that, I would bet a small amount money that some "misguided person" (euphemism) will still ask if s/he can telecommute.

You are correct. This person would need to be in either LA or the DC area. That's where our data centers are. Thanks for the reply.
