Freelance Server Administrator Required for "Odd Jobs"
Hello LinuxQuestions,

I am looking for somebody who is experienced with Virtual Dedicated Servers and Dedicated Servers to be able to provide support and "odd job" services for a couple of operations on a pay as you go basis.

What I am looking for is somebody whom I can get on the phone, email or IM and ask to do a job on the server, such as install a Perl module or two, set up an FTP user and so on.

Ideally you will have an hourly rate and be able to tell us in advance how long each job will probably take and the amount. Although pay-as-you-go is preferred we can look at business share, pre-paid hours, etc.

If you are interested in providing this service please email or post a reply.

Not a bad way to earn some quick cash.

I just wanted to post a quick update that I hope people thinking about posting a job advert will appreciate.

I've had about 6 responses to this advert all from top quality people who know a lot about Linux. I am now in a position where the server I need administering is up-to-date and am waiting for the rest of the business to catch up. It is totally worth posting to this forum, even if it costs a few quid. The quality of the people you will make contact with is second to none ... also that few quid is going to a very good website. I'll certainly be posting back here if I have any Linux related jobs come up again.

As for the people who replied to the ad... You're all great and I will be in touch with each of you shortly. There may be capacity to have multiple administrators on a pay-as-you-go system to ensure good availability of technical help when required, so please do keep sending in those emails.

With great thanks, appreciation and admiration.
