Whoa hoo... all hardware working.. (incl webcam, cdwriter and radeon)
 

It took me a month, because I just had that single model without linux drivers.. An Sapphire Card, powered by an ATI Radeon 9000 chip with 64 MB.

ATI didn't help my much, in fact their site is too Windows orientated. But with the drivers from http://www.schneider-digital.de/html/download_ati.html they just work :-) I can even play Unreal Tournament and Return To Castle Wolvenstein at my Linux workstation too! Wine still gives me a headache, but soon this will disappear too off-course ;)

Now, I plugged in my USB-QuickCam (just to make some pictures), and got a CD-writer.. Both just work too :-)

It's sweat. and very satisfying to make it working.

hehe yeah. Though, when my friends ask can-it-be-done (?!?!) questions, I tell them: I don't have any problems, linux can do everything too.. In fact, I only have one problem; the market is a little too windows-minded.

I keep telling this, because for some reason a lot of people seam to believe nothing can be done with Linux. :confused: Guess what; why else did I post this? ;) thanks for your response btw.

I did notice some config entries in the kernel for usb-mass storage; but I'm not sure that's exactly what you're looking for. Maybe there is something usefull at http://www.linux-usb.org/ I've experienced that the tools 'usbtree' and 'lsusb' are very usefull to scan the USB bus, instead of endlessly finding out why your driver doesn't work.
