Using your microsoft install cd to load linux distros

I have ended up using a microsoft install cd to erase my hard drive so I could install another distro. It was necessary when I couldn't get rid of Fedora Core 7 to load Ubuntu. The install of Fedora had been flakey from the start and I decided to go back to Ubuntu and stop distro hopping. The only way I could do it was to use my microsoft install cd for xp. If this saves anyone any time when they are switching from one distro to another I'll be grateful for it. It might sound lame, but it works.

Thank you for the information and I will use it in the future but I already have Ubuntu installed and I am a happy camper. If I run into trouble like this again I'll gladly do as you suggest. Thanks again.

Whatever works works.

The Ubuntu Live/Install CD has a GUI Partition Editor (System -> Administration -> Partition Editor) as well as the CLI cfdisk.

Thank you, because I didn't know that the live cd had that option.

I feel a disturbance in the force...
...as if thousands of hard drives are being partitioned for Linux...
