Talking Ubuntu Easy as 123 !!!

Well I have finally after several installs and re installs got my linux toshiba laptop working properly. I have spent at least 40 hours attempting to get my netgear usb wg111 working and it's a miracle, it is now! I have tried MEPIS, SUSE, but finally ended up using UBUNTU

My advice for any newbies out there, like myself, save yourself headaches and install UBUNTU 5.10 ! The other distro's are good as well but the only one that worked with my usb wireless was UBUNTU out of the box. Their support page is also full of great tips and workarounds.

Now I know why they are listed as being the #1 distro at distrowatch. Thanks to Mark Shuttleworth and the team in the UBUNTU project for making linux become a household name.

Couldn't agree more. I've had configuration issues with other distros and I eventually get them all sorted out. But, Ubuntu recognized everything and just flat worked. It's all I use now.

Glad you got things going. 5.10 certainly seems better with hardware detection + configuration straight out of the box, something SuSE + Mandriva used to be kings of!
