Success with squid on red hat 9

I've got a couple of computers which are connected by a lan network. I wanted to get squid working so my girlfriend and I could use the internet at the same time. But for the life of me I couldn't get the squid server to start.

Eventually I serched the linuxquestions and I found a thread started by someone who had exactly the same problem and a reply with an exact answer.

Trying this solved the problem and now squid works fine.

So thanks to Salihou for asking the question and thanks to psyche_4ever for your answer and to linuxquestions for your great site.
