member? still newbie
 

I am very much still a newbie, but as it doesn't say that under my username anymore, I thought it would be an appropriate time to thank everyone here. I picked up linux about a year ago, really to teach myself more about how computers actually work as opposed to trying to get away from the evil empire. With windows, all I have ever done is surf the net, check email and write papers for college. Now with linux, I actually know a little something about how my computer works and have done so much I never would have with windows. I have my own web site hosted at home, have a home network that is mostly up and running and am even picking up the basics of C++. I still have a long ways to go and many other things to learn how to do, but I can honestly say that I will never go back to windows again. I may even try to convert some people.

I do have to thank all the people that use this site. I started coming here when searching for linux answers on the net. Usually the first three returns were from here, and they were the only ones that gave me something to work off of. And because of this site's help, I am even starting to feel comfortable enough to try and help other people posting here.
