Wow, I feel both accomplished and foolish. I have win32 XP and Fedora 5 x86_64 dual-booting on a compaq presario v5119us. Maplesoft offers a linux x86_64 version of their maple software, which I use at my university. After a bit of hacking about in the installer (only a small bit) I got it installed, but I thought I couldn't run the graphical version. Well, I had posted when I had trouble installing, and someone recently responded, which prompted me to try once again.
Works like a charm. The problem was... I forgot to add a directory to $PATH. Now the only two things tying me to Windows are my bcm4318 wireless and the warranty. :-) YAY!
Wow, I'm on a roll today. Scratch that, only the warranty is holding me now. I finally conquered the 4318. Muahahah! Now to call compaq and see if using linux exclusively voids my waranty.
Sweet! Scratch that... according to HP removing Windows does not void the warranty on the hardware. So now theres... Nothing holding me to Windows. SWEET!!
