Helped Friend Install Linux

For the first time in my young Linux experience, I was the Linux "expert" who helped somebody else install it for the first time. I still barely know what I'm doing, but it was a reminder of how much I have learned in my three months of Linux. (We we're disappointed that all the girls didn't flock to his dorm for the Linux Installation Party).

It's a good feeling imbibing your knowledge to someone else... it's even better when they understand it!

Well done on your conquest... and good luck on your other (con)quest... if you know what I mean, wink wink.

Oh, and I couldn't figure out MacOS 8.6. I "acquired" an old 5500/225 complete with rather abused MacOS on there. So many unnecessary things in the "extensions" thingy that I didn't know where to begin. So I moved them all somewhere else, and it broke. I tried a sequence of trial and error to get only the essential extensions enabled, but things just went completely wrong somewhere along the line. So I whipped out the harddrive, installed a larger one and put Debian/PPC on it. Much better now!
