Yet Another Noo Person

Just saying Hi.

Been involved with pooters for a while (Netware sysadmin), but only now getting the urge to look at linux in a decent way.
Of course with Novell's purchase of Suse, that kinda made up my mind I've played with Linux a few times, but with no real need to use it, soon lost enthusiasm. Until now.

I look after a couple of Suse OES boxes at work, but need more experience to get the best out of them, so I grabbed an old "soon to be thrown on the tip" Proliant 1600 with a Gig of ram and two 450's to play with.

Now it sits in my shed, and I intend to build it in to something that will be useful to me, that is a CNC mills brain, and to run various datalogging and automotive diagnostic tools.

Of course that's later, for now just getting a recent release to install on the b@st@rd is painful.

Anyways, I've said hello, back to "lurking"

JJ

Welcome,

I hope that you have a good time working with linnux. I think that you will find that the various flavors of linux have strong user communties where you should be able to find assitance when you need it.

Good luck & happy hunting
