Cool Welcome, me.

Hi,

My name is Russel. I'm from South Africa, and have only recently (past year or so) been playing around with linux software.

The only thing I know is very little of Ubuntu. I've got Ubuntu 10.4 running on my old P4 machine, and have now gotten myself a core i5 with 8gigs RAM.

My goals on this site:
- Learn more about linux software,
- Learn to install a server OS on my PC (which I'm currently having a problem with)
- Ask a few noob questions, and hopefully at some point be able to answer a few.

Thats all about me for now, thank you for reading.
Russel

lol..Hi,

I guess if we wanted to say Howdy, we'd just say Howdy lol.

But there are so many different languages and cultures in South Africa, greetings would depend on who is saying it and who they are saying it to.

Here's a few websites that give lists for the different "slang" words we use:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...an_slang_words
http://www.newfusion.co.za/_mgxroot/page_10791.html
http://www.southafrica.info/travel/advice/saenglish.htm
http://www.urbandictionary.com/defin...frican%20slang

A bit off topic though?...
