I am a new member of this great growing comunity....
however i dont know anything about Linux but want to know because i think LINUX is a MUST.

it's another challenge i want to try and fullfill.

there are simple tasks that i really can not make them work. for instance, install a printer, install a CD-ROm to listen my music, install a WEBCAM, make my language the default language on the e-mail.....

Maybe this is to simple for most of you on the forum, but as i said , i am a basic beginner that is given their first steps in this wonderful world.

Much things you mention depend on your hardware. For example, you need to get (or find in your system) right drivers for your printer and webcam to make them work. To give you help we need to know what you have exacly.

CDrom should be configured by default, the problem I may see is lack of media player that you can use to play it or the problem when there's no cable between your cdrom and sound card.

Default language of your mail program is changed in its configuration. Which one you use?

I think it's a good idea for you to post details about the problems in separate threads (the hardware ones may be in one thread) in right forums. Remember to post as much details as you can about the issues.
