Thank You Thank You Thank You ETC...

I am new to Linux now for the 3rd time. I tried it years ago and am in awe of the progress since my last failed attempt.

In the 80's when I was a kid I had a commodore 64 and loved working with it and making it do things that they never intended for it to do, writing scripts and basic programming were just part of using a computer. Since Windows came along I lost that love for computing and it became boring at best. Last month I downloaded Mandrake move to have a peek, I was shocked at the progress. I went ahead and downloaded Fedore Core 1 and am having a blast.

I come by here daily and read about how to do this/that/or the other and am learning so much very quickly.

I decided that I am sticking with Linux and formatted over my Win XP partition last week. I decided it was all or nothing.

I have made it so that my wife doesn't even know she is using linux instead of Windows. As far as she knows its just a theme or something. That goes a long way for me.

So far I have had the common Noooooob problems like Up2date crashing, HP printer driver and Nvidia issues but have been able to fix them easily just by reading about it here. I actually enjoy figuring things like this out and hope to be able to get many of my friends to take the leap.

Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for all of the help and I hope that as I progress I will be able to contribute to the forum rather than just take.

Keep up the good work everyone! I am sold on Linux now.

JB
