Solution to painting the surface map on Google Earth

A newbie w/ages old experience w/basic and some C++. The code is already looking familiar. Being an inventor I'm always looking to find solutions or make improvements to existing technologies. Am just trying but so far am phsyched on Linux and hope to be a contributor. OS turned my 10-yr old duo core processor into a fast 64-bit machine. First problem: Finding a solution to painting the surface of the invisible globe with satallite images, complete with to-ground functionality in Google Earth. Everything else, other than non-functioning menu, seems cool. I've tried the recommended fixes without luck. Thanks!

Hi, and welcome to LQ.

Not sure if this is the same issue you're having, but for a start, take a look at this thread (looks similar to the problem you describe), and this other one.

If the above solutions don't work, you can start a new thread in one of the support areas describing your problem.

Regards, and good luck!

Thanks for your help. I posted a general response to All, but specifically wanted to thank you for taking the time to guide me in the right direction. Like most, I'm too impatient to wait for the update and anxious to figure out how to do in myself, if I am able.

Ed
