Thumbs up Refugee from MS Windows (THANK YOU...Linux developers and community!!!)

Last week tried out Ubuntu 10.4 and now run 10.10. Wow! I am so impressed. I had no idea Linux had come so far! It is well-designed, capable, and robust.

Thank you to all the Linux developers and those in the community who have created this whole realm of new possibilities. Yes, I know there is a way to go, BUT, any undertaking this complex and sustained over so many years borders on the impossible. What you have done is magnificent and inspiring.

I've been around computers for a while: I began fooling around with them when a friend of mine purchased the first IBM PC with DUAL () 5-1/4" floppy drives! (Who could possibly need all the room on those really expensive 5-megabyte hard disks?). A little while later I helped another friend teach computers to the first class at Harvard Business School to be required to use them. (I think they were running Lotus 1-2-3 v.1.04a for spreadsheets and perhaps Wordstar for word processing?)

Anyway, you can imagine the hundreds (thousands?) of hours I have wasted trying to circumvent Microsoft's bullshit and arrogance. I have only one thing to say, paraphrased from Martin Luther King:
Free at last, free at last, thank God Almighty, I'm free at last.
THANK YOU, EACH AND EVERY ONE!
