Old linux hack and LinixQuestions lurker but new poster

I've been working with Linux since I arrived in the Si Valley 12 years ago. I work mostly in Redhat related distros such as Centos, Fedora, and Red Hat Enterprise itself. I have dabbled with Ubuntu with a a virtual machine on my laptop.

I do mostly high performance server software in C++. I deal with Java clients mostly and SOAP services.

My development environment uses a Xen kernel so I can run sample servers and clients, and build from the convenience of my office.
