Not able to mount VCD's on FEDORA CORE 6

Hi Friends,

I am Hareesh. Recently installed fedora core 6 on dell inspiron 1520. Everything is fine. I have installed VLC player and having totem movie player too. But the DVD drive is able to recognise(mount)data discs but not movie discs of VCD or DVD format.I am getting error as "not able mount disc. No proper media present in drive." Please help me guys as soon as possible. I am not able to watch all my movies which are in DVD and VCD format.
