Newbie writing in for the first time
 

Hi

I am palani_ENT writing in from Malaysia! I am an absolute beginner to Linux. I did dabble with BASIC all of 25 years ago and then slowly slid into the bad practice of using Windows. The main reason for using Windows was the GUI interface and the reason for wanting out is the frequency with which Windows freezes on me and the unfair restrictions they place on the software and the silly locking mechanisms preventing me from using the software in more than one computer within my home. I hope to learn the skills needed to use Linux exclusively and totally shun Windows. I am very sure I shall need lots of help and guidance - given my age of 59!
