Newbie-up here in the Rain in WA state &Cheers! I don't work for Microsoft!

Hi, my name is Karen but you can call me Kishki since everyone else does even my mom. I'm working for a small company in the Seattle Area and I'm building an entire system from GUI down to Sockets using the GTK, Glade, C++ and Perl on Fedora10. A small private network that doesn't extend beyond the walls of my office.

I love this job! I have my own large office in a warehouse with only 2 other people! I get to do it all! I'm kind of like Dr. House to a bunch of laptops and a programmer all rolled into one.

I'm new to Fedora but not Unix as a whole but I only know what I learned at the terminal prompt many years ago.

Right now I'm puzzed at trying to figure out how to configure DHCP on Fedora10 and I even wonder if it's installed at all? And where does dhcp.conf go in Fedora10?

How do I test dhcp?

What is my dhcp server's name? The name of my machine? And how do I find out the name of my machine? I know it's ip but that's all.

Anyone have any answers?

I'll probably post on another forum thread that is more likely to get an answer than the "introduce yourself" forum.

Glad to be here!

Kishki
