Newbie Intro

Hey all!!

I accidently stumbled into this forum completely by accident (I was looking to see if a soundcard I was about to purchased was supported by Debian Woody). I just wanted to say hello to you all!

:)

I don't know.
Seems like you might want to post what kind of sound card it is?
Anyhow, welcome to the forums!

My current favorite sound card is the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz.

Hi all, I'm newbie in linux and want to ask something, how to check if an application already installed in linux, what's the command??ex: I want to check if webalizer is installed in linux what's the command?, I using linux redhat 9 operating system, but anyway hello to you all!!!

linmix 02-21-2006 01:15 PM

If it was installed at all you'd certainly remember if you had done it yourself from source, so I'll suppose that if at all, it was installed through rpm.

try:
rpm -q webalizer (supposing that's what the package was called)

and if that fails, try:
rpm -qa | grep webalizer (to list all installed rpms and filter for the string 'webalizer'

if neither gives any return it would be safe to assume it isn't installed.
